Prez Election Legal Battle: Valley of the Shadow of Death

By Louis M. Manzo November 24, 2020

Attorney Sidney Powell predicted that her soon-to-be filed case on behalf of the President’s election legal battle would be “Biblical.” But little did she know it would be the Book of Exodous.

On Sunday evening, the President’s legal team announced that the prominent attorney was no longer part of the gang. Team captain Rudy Giuliani made it clear in syrupy language, “Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”

To her credit, Powell took the news in stride. “I agree with the statement today. I will represent #WeThePeople and seek the Truth. I intend to expose all the fraud and let the chips fall where they may. We will not allow the foundations of this great Republic to be destroyed by abject fraud.”

So, Powell left—no longer a member of the President’s legal team, but still continuing to launch a legal battle on his behalf.

Sidney Powell is a well-respected former Federal prosecutor turned defense attorney. Powell is as serious as a heart attack. She represented former Senator Ted Stevens [Alaska] against federal corruption charges. The case against Stevens was dismissed when Powell uncovered and charged prosecutorial misconduct. She stood up to federal prosecutors and FBI agents, and called them out for their misconduct. Literally, knocking them on their asses. The court sanctioned the prosecutors.

More recently, Powell represented General Michael Flynn whose charges were ordered dismissed by an Appellate Court. Again, smacking around DOJ officials who held back exculpatory evidence. Crushing them in the courtroom.

The President’s legal team is in obvious disarray. But that’s all right, so were the ’78 Yankees…and they won it all. A lot of damage control is in order. They’re lucky that Thanksgiving week will give them some cover while they get their act together.

Rudy Giuliani might have once been a great federal prosecutor and mayor, but he was the wrong choice to lead this battle. The media now hates the once America’s mayor—primarily because of his investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden. You need a lot of panache to handle a media that hates you and your client, and plenty of thick skin to go along. Unfortunately, Rudy has the public relations skills of an alligator.

The president’s impeachment lawyer, Jay Sekulow, should have led this cavalry.

But when you have the law and the facts on your side, sometimes you can overcome the bad days. And, as I predicted in a previous column, there will be plenty of bad days in the state courts and lower federal courts—where judges are more gun shy. The President’s Constitutional argument, diagnosed in my last column, is rock solid.

Powell was working the high-tech voter fraud case. It is fascinating. [I am endeavoring to put together a column on this part of the election fraud case—explaining it to readers in laymen’s terms.] One of the reasons Powell was shown the door is because her case was becoming a distraction to the President’s Constitutional arguments. Translation: she was stealing the spotlight from Rudy.

Powell has a partner in crime in these matters. Another lone lawslinger filing cases on his own—Attorney L. Lin Wood. Wood is best known for his work with high-profile clients such as Richard Jewell, Jon Benet Ramsey’s parents, Gary Condit, Kobe Bryant’s alleged victim, Howard K. Stern, and Anna Nicole Smith’s mother.

Most recently, Wood made headlines for defending teenagers Nicholas Sandmann and Jacob Blake. In fact, in the latter, Wood just wiped the floor with CNN and the Washington Post; and the beating CNN took, or what they had to fork over in damages—$275M—is one of the reasons the network is up for sale.

Wood and Powell have impeccable reputations. They don’t tie their names to hack cases. They are not going to risk their character at this stage of the game by turning themselves into Edsel salesmen. They are the best thing going for the President’s arguments. They are attorneys who will not compromise. But unfortunately, compromise is just what happened here, and more than likely was the real reason for Powell’s banishment.

In making the argument that the Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic software corrupted the election results through the use of an algorithm that switched votes from Trump over to Biden, both attorneys uncovered some seriously ugly political corruption. They made it known they were taking no prisoners and were going to expose the corrupt.

The alleged corrupt in this case happened to be elected and appointed officials in several States, who accepted bribes, gifts, and favors for family members, in exchange for awarding contracts to Dominion. Powell and Wood allege the corruption is bipartisan. The support for their claims is affidavits and statements from Dominion employees and Georgia State government workers. Whistleblowers.

The first officials Powell and Wood singled out was Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

“Mr. Kemp and the Secretary of State need to go because they’re in on the Dominion scam with their last-minute purchase or reward of a contract to Dominion of $100 million. …Georgia is probably going to be the first state I’m going to blow up, and Mr. Kemp and the Secretary of State need to go with it,” Powell stated.

Wood went further, “The governor of the state of Georgia is corrupt, he’s compromised by China money. Raffensperger [Secretary of State] is corrupt. You can always follow the money. And there’s a lot of money that went down when the Dominion Voting System was purchased by the state of Georgia in 2019. Follow the money. There was also a lot of money that went down when Governor Kemp bought COVID supplies, masks, gowns, COVID test kits from China. Follow the money. There’s also an interesting money trail before he appointed Kelly Loeffler as Senator and after her appointment. Follow the money.”

The country might be divided, but there is nothing like calling out corruption and pay-to-play that will unite Republican and Democrat officeholders. As Powell threatened to “release the Kraken,” lawmakers and megadonors were ringing Mitch McConnell’s phone off the wall. With two United States’ Senate seats up for grabs in Georgia, was this the time to release the Kraken and evidence that the Republican Governor and Secretary of State are corrupt?

And with other Republican officeholders biting their tongues while Trump waged his election legal battle, Powell could not be seen tied to the President. So, with a wink and a nod, she is gone. No longer Rudy’s headache.

Later this week, Powell will finally release the Kraken. An election fraud case of “Biblical” proportions. The deserved valley of the shadow of death for the monsters who threatened our democracy.
